Pavers vs concrete:
Concrete slabs are rigid. As the ground freezes and thaws, concrete cannot flex — which often leads to cracking. Once it cracks, the only true repair is replacing the entire slab.
Paver patios are different. Because pavers are individual units installed over a properly compacted base with polymeric sand between the joints, they can move slightly with freeze–thaw cycles while maintaining a solid, level surface.
If minor settling ever occurs, individual pavers can simply be lifted, the base adjusted, and the same pavers reinstalled — making repairs far less frequent, easier, and more cost-effective than concrete.

Put it on paper! Our hardscape experts will get your vision on paper with a detailed design. Upon proposal acceptance, this design goes back and forth until it is refined to perfection, and ready for installation.

Time for our crews’ skills, expertise, and craftsmanship to shine! The true integrity of The Hardscape Store shows through every step of the installation process, from foundation to finish:
Foundation- a minimum 4” compacted subbase is installed beneath EVERY project. This provides strong support to maintain your project over time, yet flexibility to withstand movement from freeze/thaw.
Hardscapes- we use industry-leading, high-quality pavers and wall block that prevent fade, wear, and tear over time.
Finish- High-quality polymeric sand fills the space between pavers, preventing weeds while allowing for subtle flexibility to prevent cracking.

Our design experts complete an on-site final inspection of every project to ensure your satisfaction.

3-Year warranty

Most patio projects take between one to two weeks depending on size, complexity, and weather conditions. Once we start your project, we see it through to completion and do not pull off the job until your are satisfied.
Paver patios require minimal maintenance. To help preserve their appearance and long-term performance, we recommend having the patio professionally pressure washed and re-polymeric sanded approximately every 3–5 years, depending on conditions and wear.
We install high-quality pavers from Cambridge and Nicolock that are manufactured with advanced color-through technology. This means the color runs throughout the entire paver rather than only on the surface.
Because of this, these pavers maintain their rich, natural appearance and continue to look new for the lifetime of your project.
